THE WHITE SHIRT
EST.1987
As worn by UK artist Labrinth, The White Shirt premiered in 1987 and became an immediate blank canvas for showcasing the individual.
The Big Shirt and the Standard Oxford are later versions of the original White Poplin Shirt. Pulled from the archives and reintroduced for today, with a more relaxed fit.
Check out a curated edit of styles, inspired by the pieces Labrinth wore in our A/W campaign.
Originally named the khaki, Gap’s chinos have been influenced by prep, street and skate-wear – making them truly iconic. In 1998, Gap released ‘Khaki Swing’, an advert that combined rhythm with a new khaki energy.
From the Modern Straight to throwback fits, all iterations of chinos are forever timeless.
Four years after opening the brand’s first denim and record store, Gap launched its own private denim label. We’ve been making iconic jeans ever since.
The ‘70s Flare is the latest reinvention – a fit that’s both nostalgic and now. And because sustainability is the future, all our denim is now made responsibly using our water-saving Washwell programme.
Launched at Christmas 1984, the Pocket Tee, with 12 colours options, became an instant icon. To date, the Pocket Tee has been produced in over 250 colourways and has been worn by Gap Individuals Kim Basinger, Naomi Campbell (twice), Chris Evans, Melissa King and Angus Cloud.
Today, the Pocket Tee is made with the planet in mind, using 100% organically grown cotton.
The Arch Logo Hoodie made its debut in Gap’s 1995 autumn campaign ‘Nothing Else Like It’, shot by the legendary Patrick Demarchelier.
Since then, the logo has gone prep, stayed classic, and has been adopted by the next generation of culture shapers. Gen-Z has bubbled it up, made the logo TikTok famous, and it’s even been reimagined by famous icon Dapper Dan – whose individual spin on a Gap logo hoodie sold out in hours.
