This will also ultimately mean that you can avoid owning an excessive amount of clothes, which is less overwhelming for you when getting dressed, and it’s better for the planet, too.
It’s never the wrong time to start building your capsule wardrobe, however at the start of a new season, or at the beginning of a new year, are perfect times to hit reset.

1. The first step to securing a capsule wardrobe is to audit your current wardrobe.
2. Choose your favourite, wearable items that cover all occasions and that fit you best.
3. Organise your items into outfits.
4. Pack up and store anything that doesn’t currently fit or that isn’t seasonally relevant.
5. See what key items you are missing for this season, essentials that will mix and match perfectly and look to buy what you’re missing.
6. Replace any items you love that are now too worn or have lost their shape or colour.
7. Then after this point, trial the wardrobe for at least three months, you’ll soon see if you’re missing any other iconic pieces.
